High-Waisted: EBEW Florals

I'm super happy with this look that came together. I wore this to a Celebration of Life and a Cookie Lee Team Meeting. I hadn't thought of layering a skirt over a dress before now, but it worked! It also qualifies for entry into the Everybody, Everywear Floral challenge.

Florals | Everybody, Everywear

Here's the math of it all: Black Dress + Black/Pink/White Bold Floral Skirt + Dark Grey Sweater + Cookie Lee Jewelery + Strappy Heels =  This!

What do you think?

Nemo has a "Nemo fin", and Yes, I have a "Nemo toe."

Sporting the flippy floppies while we walked to lunch downtown. Hubby took this pic.

Pattern Close up!

I love the sheer and sequin detailing on this short sleeved cardi. This was a fantastic find while thrifting.

In front of a vacant storefront downtown. I love the old time feel our small town still has.

I feel pretty, oh so pretty!

A high contrast edit of this photo brought out the colors and textures of this otherwise washed out pic.

Have you had success layering an outfit in this manner? Questions? Concerns? Love it/Hate it? Leave me a comment so I can check out your EBEW outfit, too.

Gleefully Yours

Ok guys I think I'm officially a "Gleek". I watched nearly the whole first season of Glee yesterday while at home sick in bed... and love it! The songs, the dancing, the costumes, the drama of it all. I'll admit, up until now, I have only caught one episode and wasn't thoroughly excited about it. But I wanted to give it a fair chance to catch me from the first season, and it has.

Emma's character dresses so cute. Her styles are very fun and feminine which is very "IN" this spring. Ruffles, flowers, bows, cute cardi's, bright colors, great accessories, from the jewelry to the shoes. This girl can rock a sweater guard and make it look trendy and not so "Golden Girls".

Love how this black and white dress was punched up by the turquoise cardi.

Any other Gleeks out there? Who has the best wardrobe on the show in your opinion? I'm anxious to hear :)

All Ruffled

Pure Runway Fashion Blog

What I wore today.

Cardigan, Thrifted; Jeans, Old Navy; 3/4 length top, Coldwater Creek, Thrifted; Shoes, Target; Purse, Coach, Gifted

What's more fun, flirty and feminine for spring than ruffles?

Outfit Details:
Cardigan, Thrifted
Jeans, Old Navy
Vneck, Coldwater Creek, Thrifted
Shoes, Target
Purse, Coach, Gifted
Jewelry, Cookie Lee

Ironically, my copy of the current Victoria's Secret Catalog arrived in the mail today and I'm in love with the cardigan featured below! It reminds me of the simple ruffle cardigan I already have. The soft lavendar color is lovely, but a more vibrant corally-bubbleyum color looks so much more yummy. Yes, I said yummy.

Making a list and checking it twice...

Gonna find out if it's a good price. Oh Mandy's got some thrifting to do! I know I have a ton of clothes already- all of which are buried deep in storage from our big move. I believe that by the time we finish building our house, and unpack- things will definately not fit me and gasp! may even be out of style. I feel that style challenges such as those posted on Everybody,Everywear certainly get my hamster wheels a-turnin and make me excited about getting dressed in the morning. Now I'm not so afraid to be so matchy-matchy with my clothes and shoes, thanks to...  Kileen and her color brigade and Sally @ AlwaysPretty.com . It's so refreshing to see their use of vibrant colors. Sally has some great tips and ideas for incorporating color into your outfit with shoes.

I got these babies for $5 clearance at Target about 3 yrs ago. They have been worn maybe twice- simply because I didn't know what to wear them with for the longest time. I intend to show them some love.

Feelin' Thrify

Saturday Feb 5, 2011

This past Saturday, I spent a lovely afternoon browsing the local thrift stores with my mom in law. The sun's a shining and it was in the low 70's. I can't believe how nice the weather was here while people across the US are experiencing one of the worst winter storms in decades. I hope this beautiful weather lasts.

Hey Guys! Check out my amazing new invisible lounge chair.

Above, I'm seen rocking my new 25cent belt and my old floral top. It's been sitting in my closet for nearly a year and *gasp!* I've worn it maybe 2 or 3 times. I figured today was a great day to bring it out, especially since I was feeling it was time to start looking at my existing wardrobe in a whole new light.

Best find of the day! It's got a lovely peach color and the rouching gives it fancy corset look.
